PEL93 lies in the north of South Australia on the southwestern margin of the Cooper Basin. Jurassic and Triassic reservoirs are the main exploration targets within the block.

The Worrior oil field (PPL207) lies within PEL93 near the eastern boundary of the block, as does the Arwon discovery, indicating that PEL93 is prospective for oil exploration.

Cooper Energy has participated in seven exploration wells in PEL93, resulting in the Worrior and Arwon discoveries.

Worrior-1 discovered a field of approximately 4.5 MMbbl recoverable, Arwon-1 discovered a small field that was later divested to Stuart Petroleum. The Rainbird-1 and Patron-1 wells were fully funded by Red Sky Energy and Magellan Petroleum.
