PEL110 lies in the northeast corner of South Australia on the northern margin of the Cooper Basin.
PEL110 sits on the northwestern flank of the Patchawarra Trough and Pre-Permian economic basement is onlapped by progressively older sediments (Jurassic Poolowanna Formation - Triassic Tinchoo Formation - Permian formations) across the block from northwest to the southeast.
Cooper Energy has participated in two exploration wells in PEL110:
- Semaphore-1 in October 2003
- Yanerbie-1 in May 2005
The exploration wells were plugged and abandoned as dry holes with oil shows.
After the recent renewal of the licence for a second 5 year period, Cooper Energy has recently completed a re-evaluation of the blocks potential.
Monitor Energy has farmed into PEL110 for a 20% interest in exchange for carrying Cooper Energy in a proportion of the future work program. Victoria Petroleum recently entered the Joint Venture by purchasing Magellen Petroleum's 60% interest.
